    Measure your current belt

    Another useful way to measure your belt size is to measure your old belt.


    Lay your current, well-fitting belt flat on a table. Measure the distance
    from the beginning of the leather at the buckle (so you do not measure the buckle itself)

    This option is a bit trickier because many different jeans brands calculate differently. In general, these sizes are correct.

    What if I'm between sizes?

    Of course, it can happen that you end up between 2 sizes. So, for example, you measure 98 cm. In that case, you fall exactly between belt size 95 and 105.
    You now have a number of options. We emphasize that none of the options are right or wrong. The choice is yours as to what you like best.

    The options:

    1. You choose a shorter or longer overlap. So do you want the end piece of the belt to be longer or shorter? So you just choose size 95 or 105.
    2. You choose size 105 and make it yourself, or have it made to exact measurements by a shoemaker.

    With the last option it is also important to look at where you wear the belt. On your clothes it is often nicer to have a shorter overlap. In your jeans you can hide the overlap in your loops.

    How many centimeters should a belt overlap?

    By default, a belt has about 15cm overlap. This can vary slightly.

    Can I shorten a belt myself?

    Of course!

    Each belt we sell indicates whether or not the belt can be shortened.

    Many of our belts have a screw near the buckle.
    When you loosen this screw you can cut the belt and then reattach the buckle. How to do that exactly you can see in our video .

    Common mistake when measuring an old belt

    One of the options to determine your belt size is to measure an old belt.
    A common mistake here is to measure the entire belt including the buckle.
    In that case, order a belt that is approximately 5cm too long.

    The correct way to determine your belt size is to measure the belt from the middle hole to where the buckle begins. The number of centimeters you measure is your belt size.
