Characteristics of men's and women's belts
Width
With men's belts, the width is less variable than with women's belts. A men's jeans belt fits through the loops of a pair of jeans, and those loops are rarely wider than 5 cm. You see that reflected in the belts themselves: men's belts stay within that size. A men's dress belt is often slightly narrower than a jeans belt, tailored to the finer loops of a suit or dress pants.
With women's belts, the belt width is much more varied. A narrow women's belt can be narrow enough to fit through small loops, while a wide women's belt is more likely to be worn over clothing as an accessory than through loops.
Color
Men's belts appear most frequently in black, brown, cognac, camel, gray, and blue. These are colors that combine broadly with what is in a man's wardrobe. Women's belts follow the fashion offerings of the season and are therefore available in a much wider color palette.
Buckle color and buckle shape
